We are back!! And I couldn’t have resumed the podcast with a better guest than Simon Schoefthaler; a minimalist lifestyle practitioner and an avid traveler who loves to spend most of his time in the outdoors with mother nature. It was during his travels that he realised the magnitude of the problem that plastic use was causing around the world, after which he felt the need to take action and then joined the NGO ‘Project Wings’. In this episode, we discuss in-depth, his journey to becoming a part of the Project Wings team, the organization’s activities and its plan to build the biggest recycled village in Indonesia using plastic garbage.

I'm sure you've heard of the term "Global Citizen Skills". Many organisations, companies, and individuals are talking about it. My LinkedIn feed is full; but what does it actually mean? What ARE the global citizen skills and more importantly, how do we acquire them? I don't have all the answers but in this podcast episode, I looked at various resources and gave you my very own perspective on it.

#110 Localbird 🦜, Secret Places & the Canary Islands with Edoardo Giani
Sunday Jun 05, 2022
Sunday Jun 05, 2022
This week’s episode is for all you travel birds who love to explore new cities, absorb the local culture and have a positive impact.
Meet Edoardo Giani, a digital nomad creative designer and the founder of Localbird, a travel company that provides experiences (trips and local activities) in the Canary Islands. Local Bird helps to educate long-term tourists (Nomads, Erasmus...) about the importance of knowing the local places, lifestyle and the culture in order to generate a positive impact during their stay. It promotes traveling as an immersion with the community to improve people’s knowledge and not limit themselves to the conventional leisure stay . This experience allows people to create deep social and professional connections with the locals, who differ from the ‘tourist invasion’, and the internationals, who find a linguistic or social barrier when they try to integrate.
